International Beer Day

Chill out and enjoy a cold pint this August 5th with International Beer Day at Reform Social and Grill. Nothing beats a pint on a hot day, and to make it even better, on August 5th get your first pint free between 12pm and closing time. Reform Social & Grill is a quintessential London gastropub right in the heart of the The Lakes, serving up traditional British pub classics. Return of the Premier League 

After the summer off, Saturday 6th August sees a return of the Premier League to our screens and Playbook can recommend one of the best new spots to get back into the action. Pier 7’s newest venue Bedrock, is a modern sports bar with a fun twist. With 20 screens across the venue, but far from a traditional sports bar interior, light and airy, with plush booths, concept lighting and plants dotted across the space, Bedrock is a very cool spot to watch the football and enjoy a classic sports bar menu. Bedrock is also home to an X-Golf simulator and a darts bar, absolutely one to check out this August.

Check Out Newly Opened Alaya

New restaurant Alaya opening at DIFC this August is a strong contender for one of the best Mediterranean-Middle Eastern fusion restaurants in Dubai. Inside is classic and elegant, with art deco high ceilings, beautiful abstract artwork, and plush, pastel pink and mint green upholstered seating. Led by Head Chef Izu Uni and restaurateur Evgeny Kuzin, the menu combines mezze style items, high quality meat and seafood dishes and a crowd-pleasing dessert menu. The combination of bold middle eastern flavours and hospitality with the finesse of Mediterranean dining makes this combination an absolute must try for foodies across the city.

Dubai Summer Surprises Restaurant Week

August 12th – 28th is a big week for restaurants across the City with Dubai Summer Surprises Restaurant Week. Choose from 50 restaurants across the city to experience some of the best F&B ranging from a huge selection of world cuisines. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner (or all three) are all available at a fraction of the price, so it’s the perfect opportunity to check out any eateries you’ve wanted to try for a while but have never got round to!

Akira Back’s Pairing Menu

And finally, this August sees the introduction of Akira Back’s pairing menu ‘uncorked’. Starting on August 11th and then running every 2nd Thursday of the month, this is a very exciting offering from Akira Back’s Chef De Cuisine, Giovanni Ledon. Located in a beautiful setting at the iconic W Dubai overlooking the Dubai skyline, Akira Back’s wine-paired, 6-course menu offers an eclectic look at some of Dubai’s best culinary offerings. Priced at AED699 per person, being part of the very first sitting to try this remarkable set menu would be an unforgettable experience.
